DESCRIPTION:Everyone is welcome to join us for a night socialising beginning at (venues possibly reversed) the newly refurbished and reopened Bowbridge Arms before a short walk up (or down) the hill to visit the relatively new management at the Crown & Sceptre. \nTravel Arrangements \nPlease get in touch if you would be unable to walk or use public transport and we can liaise and see what we can do. \nThe Bowbridge Arms is no more than a 20 minute walk from the centre of Stroud. It is also close to the canal footpath\, which can be taken as far as the locks at Butterrow Hill. \nThe 67 Bus leaves Merrywalks at 19:10 arriving outside at 19:19. [There are no services after 20:00 in the area\, it is a 15 minute walk from the Crown & Sceptre to the centre of Stroud.]

DESCRIPTION:This time\, we are moving outside of our patch\, but only just.\nThe Black Horse at Cranham. As you probably all know\, this pub has been saved by the community so let’s give it our support.\nOn our way back to Stroud we will stop off at Painswick\, to sample the offerings at the Oak\, one of my old watering holes as a lad. Many of the others are long gone.\nWe intend to meet in Cranham at about 1930ish\, all welcome\, no Camra business just jolly banter and an enjoyable evening.

SUMMARY:July Social - Vine Tree\, Randwick & Star Inn\, Whiteshill
DESCRIPTION:We plan to meet at the Vine Tree\, Randwick for 13:45. We will enjoy a pint or two enjoying this secluded gem nestling in the flank of a steep hill with spectacular views of the Stroud Valley and across to Rodborough and Selsley Common.\n\n\nBus connections – service 67 arrives at Cashes Green Primary School at 13:09 and is about a 20-minute walk to the Vine Tree. Service 64 arrives at Cainscross around 13:10ish and is an approx. 40-minute walk to the Vine Tree. Other services are available at different times to suit you.\n\n\nFrom the Vine Tree we will walk across the valley to the Star Inn\, Whiteshill (25 minutes’ walk – warning steep path) for around 15:30ish. The Star is a Grade II-listed Cotswold-stone 17th century inn with a comprehensively modernised\, altered and updated interior. We will leave the star when people have had their fill and there is a conveniently located bus stop opposite with frequent No 63 services down into Stroud\, where other services can be picked up.\n\n\nFor those that may not be up for the walk meeting us at the venues in cars is a good fall back. Should the weather be inclement – cars will also be the fall back.\n\n\nFingers crossed for the weather and hope to see you there.
