July Social – Vine Tree, Randwick & Star Inn, Whiteshill

We plan to meet at the Vine Tree, Randwick for 13:45. We will enjoy a pint or two enjoying this secluded gem nestling in the flank of a steep hill with spectacular views of the Stroud Valley and across to Rodborough and Selsley Common.
Bus connections – service 67 arrives at Cashes Green Primary School at 13:09 and is about a 20-minute walk to the Vine Tree. Service 64 arrives at Cainscross around 13:10ish and is an approx. 40-minute walk to the Vine Tree. Other services are available at different times to suit you.
From the Vine Tree we will walk across the valley to the Star Inn, Whiteshill (25 minutes’ walk – warning steep path) for around 15:30ish. The Star is a Grade II-listed Cotswold-stone 17th century inn with a comprehensively modernised, altered and updated interior. We will leave the star when people have had their fill and there is a conveniently located bus stop opposite with frequent No 63 services down into Stroud, where other services can be picked up.
For those that may not be up for the walk meeting us at the venues in cars is a good fall back. Should the weather be inclement – cars will also be the fall back.
