Good news! The Old Neighbourhood, one of last years three threatened pubs, has finally had it’s keys handed to the landlord of the Ship Inn, Brimscombe. Whilst the community group hoping to raise funds to keep the Asset of Community Value alive, it has appeared there are those in the pub trade who also agree that The Old Neighbourhood is still viable. As a compliment to the Ship Inn, it is expected the Old Neighbourhood will be less food orientated but with the same quality of beers and ciders available.

Well that was a ride… and it’s only just beginning!
As some of you will already know, we’ve now received the keys for The Old Neighbourhood Inn. We’re so excited to get started and transform this building back to its former glory! There’s a lot of work to do but we’re hoping we’ll get a good chunk of it done and be open by summer… for drinks at least.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the community and parish council for all their efforts to retain this asset for the community. The strength, support and consolidatory you have shown, inspired us at every hurdle to get that little bit bolder and little bit braver. Whilst we have a lot to do, the credit and this achievement is totally yours ❤️
We’ll be in there most days, so feel free to pop in. We’d be more than happy to talk you through our grand plans. We’ll also keep you updated on our progress during the refit/rebuild/repair.
Thank you for all your patience and unwavering support.
