The Fresh Standard Brew Co

Established in 2020 as a new small batch, big love beer project by Richard Taylor. They aim to create distinct, hoppy ales, inspired by the Stroud valleys and the places where we drink them.
All their beer is low intervention and only contains the four traditional ingredients of Water, Barley, Hops and Yeast. They don’t clarify their beer with fish derived finings so their beer has a light natural haze. This also means they are vegan friendly

  • Pitch – Porter 4.2%

    Robust Porter
    Pouring like an inkwell, this robust porter has intoxicating aromas of roasted coffee beans and bittersweet cocoa. With each sip, your palate is transformed by rich notes of dark chocolate, toasted caramel, and a hint of smoky goodness.

  • 2nd Year Anniversary

    For their 2 year anniversary they created an exclusive beer- Export India Porter (8%) that sold out of their 110 exclusive bottles on release.

    The good news is it will be available on draft at places like the Prince Albert in Rodborough, the Tewksbury Winter Beer Festival in January 2023 and their own Tap Room

  • Export Porter 2022 – Porter 8%

    Exclusive Porter made to celebrate The Fresh Standard Brew Co’s 2 year Anniversary.
    Stretching their 1.5 barrel brewhouse to its maximum it really is a very special brew, with 3 casks going to beer festivals and only a couple pins allocated to the Brewery Tap Room.
    An 8% ABV Export Porter brewed with just water, Cotswold Barley, hops and yeast, it is rich, indulgent and very special.

  • Kveik OEPA – Pale 5%

    We’ve made an OEPA which is a NEPA brewed exclusively with hops* grown in Old England.

    Then to confuse things even more we’ve made it with a Hornindal Kveik yeast. So we’ve got a modern American style ale brewed with low air mile ingredients with a yeast from Sweden.

    *Admiral, Opus, Godiva, Pilgrim and UK Chinook
